FRACOPOLY BOOK LAUNCH – DUBLIN TUESDAY 13 JUNE
Fracking Free Ireland did visit the launch of the Fracopoly book in Enniskillen. It was nice to meet (again) campaigners from Food and Water Europe and got updated about the campaign in the US. (Love Leitrim and FFAN (Fermanagh fracking awareness network did give an overview of the campaign)
Martin Kenny (SF) stressed that farmers should be more ‘rewarded’ for their way of ‘traditiona’) farming (family farms, cattle outside) comparing to the huge farms on the continent. If htey don’t get a good price for their meat, they might sell their land to the big corporations/companies that will use it for fracking.
There are some interesting brochures to bring home, but unfortunately it is NOT possible to buy the Frackopoly book (you can order it online or get it at your local bookshop).🙁
13th June, Tuesday: press conference, afterwards briefing session in Irish Parliament and Frackopoly presentation event in the evening – Third Space Smithfield, Dublin, Ireland (host: Sinn Féin-GUE/NGL MEP Lynn Boylan)
