Draft Sligo County Development Plan 2017-2023
Public Consultation from 21st September to 30th November 2016

Following pre-draft consultation in 2015, Sligo County Council has prepared a Draft Development Plan for County Sligo for the period 2017 to 2023. The Draft Plan is now on public display from the 21st September to the 30th November 2016. The Draft Plan can be viewed online at the following link:


Written submissions or observation regarding the Draft Development Plan and associated documents, including, proposed additions and deletions to the Record of Protected Structures, should be made in writing (hard copy or e-mail) stating the name of the person or body making the submission and headed “Draft Sligo County Development Plan 2017–2023”.

All written submissions or observations received by 4.00 pm on 30th November 2016 will be taken into consideration before the making of the Plan.

A report with recommendations on all valid submissions or observations will be prepared and presented to the Members of Sligo County Council for their consideration.

Information Sessions

During the consultation period, a number of public consultation/information sessions will be held in each Municipal District of the County. Proposed dates and venues are listed below.


20th October
Teach Laighne, Meeting Room 1, Tobercurry

27th October
Council Chamber, City Hall, Quay Street, Sligo
3.00 pm – 7.00 pm

3rd November
Ballymote Community Library, Teeling Street, Ballymote

Every Tuesday afternoon during the consultation period, planners will be available to meet the public in the Planning Section, City Hall, Quay Street, Sligo, from 2.30 pm to 4.00 pm.
